AT THE TONE THE STANDARD TIME WILL BE….

North Korea announced a new time zone.  "at the tone the standard  time will be whatever the great dear leader says it is."

We've had our own  time zone in Miami for years. 9:00 am calendars start at the REGJB for certain judges at 9:30 or 10 or whenever they finish their cafe con leche.

Speaking of the REGJB, did you notice how wonderful and quiet this week it was with all the judges at a very very important circuit court inference where important things were discussed over cocktails.

RECANTATION …THEN RE-INDICTMENT

Andrew Taylor spent 25 years in prison for capital sexual battery of an eight year old girl. The woman, now in her thirties recanted and Taylor was released. Then a grand jury indicted Taylor and he was taken into custody.
Ace Herald scribe David Ovalle and the Herald have the legal tug-of-war battle story here.  Roy (the wrath of) Kahn for the defense.

GRANDE
(the following post contains graphic descriptions of sexual images. The post may not be suitable for children under age 18, and most republican candidates for the nomination of their party for president.)

Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act holds that bloggers aren't liable for the comments of their readers.

This post on ATL has a letter which incorporates that portion of the act, as  well as a well reasoned defense of comments implying that a particular individual has a large ….sexual organ.

Enjoy your weekend.

I sit in au bon pain every morning next to a group of old guys and I try and soak up their chatter. But a lot of the conversation is spiced with spanish phrases I don't quite get- sea como no- I;m from The Bronx but I'm pretty sure they aren't talking about NY Governor Andrew Como.

entonses??

pero??

no hi??

Little help por favor.

It's si como no. Si means yes. Como from declanation that means top or head and no means no (as any woman will tell you ) so the phrase refers to confusing the head person by saying yes no. It's a way of Buffaloing a judge in court by double speak.

Last night THE REN (a venue) was packed with its usual nattily dressed crowd. There was a tasting going on of exotic alcoholic beverages and the too crowd pleasers were Nepalese rum, Burundian vodka and Inuit gin. My mojito with Nepalese rum tasted better than if made with our standard Caribbean rums, which was most pleasant revelation at this fine venue.

What happened to the Sunday DUI power rankings? That was the best feature of the blog and I haven't seen it in a while.

It doesn't matter how much you hype the ren, Kendall sucks ass.

There are no DUI clients thanks to BOT. Cops simply refuse to arrest. DUI lawyers are not making money.

Any advice for a man sitting on a pile of cash ?

11:03, bring the pile of cash to the REGB and give it away to the DUI lawyers and cops who lost their livelihoods as a result of BOT.
